Namitha Kapoor (birth name Namitha Vankawala) was born on May 10, 1980 in Surat, Gujarat, India. Namitha is a Bollywood Actress and a veteran of some 35 Bollywood films recorded in English, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu languages.
Namitha was born into a business family and is an only child who was raised in Mumbai.
Namitha started her career as a beauty queen/model and won the title of Miss Surat in 1998 at the age of 18. In 2001 Namitha finished 4th in the Miss India competition. Accompanying this beauty queen work, Namitha had also appeared in a number of television commercials (e.g. Himami cream & hand soap, Amul Ice Cream, Manekchand Gutka, Nile herbal shampoo), etc).7 Film Director Siddiqui approached Namitha to make a movie, which she duly did.
